Our Mission
M2HO is on a mission to save lives in Richmond — preventing at-risk youth and young adults from incarceration or worse, early death. Our organization works with children and youth aged 9-21, offering mentorship, fitness, and educational activities in safe and accessible spaces.
Everyone deserves a chance to thrive, regardless of past experiences or current circumstances. M2HO is committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where individuals can access the resources they need to reach their full potential.
Our History
M2HO was founded by Lejon Fahim Reese in 2013 at Folsom State Prison. While incarcerated, Fahim used the resources available to him to transform into a caring mentor and role model.
One of his first accomplishments was organizing the prison’s first cancer walk. “I personally felt the need to make an impact beyond the cancer walk by positively helping to support other people’s lives. A day of volunteering turned into a passion to help others.”
A New Chapter
When Fahim re-entered society, he made a promise to honor the legacy of his grandmother, a longtime activist and pillar of the Richmond community. He decided to focus on young people impacted by gun violence, gang activity, and the challenges of growing up in unstructured households.
Fahim believes that violence prevention starts at home and school. He is proud to have created a safe space for youth, young adults, and their families.
“Mind, Body, Soul — you must free your mind to change your body and your soul.”
Meet Our Credible Messengers
Trust is central to M2HO programs. Our team of credible messengers consists of predominantly Richmond residents with firsthand experience with the same forms of violence children, youth, and young adults are facing today.

“We strive to help people of all ages and genders who may have been victims of any crime regardless of age, race, gender, nationality, or religion. Many crime victims are scared to tell their stories because of fear of being judged or criticized. While others feel that their cries may fall on deaf ears. We create a safe comfortable place with practical solutions to daily life issues for our community. Our members and volunteers provide the momentum that helps us create change. Using data-driven models, we provide solutions that make a difference.”
